General Information

General information
Load-bearing components or parts of the suspension must not be welded or straightened.

The wheel bearings must not be subjected to load when the 12-point nut is loose.

If the wheel bearings are subjected to the full weight of the vehicle they will be overloaded, resulting in reduced service life. Please note the following:
- Lift vehicle enough to relieve load on front wheels.
- Loosen 12-point nut or flange bolt.

Never move vehicles after the drive axle has been removed; this will result in wheel bearing damage. If the vehicle does have to be moved, always note the following:
- Install an outer joint in place of the drive axle.
- Secure the outer joint by tightening to the specified torque for the drive axle.

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolt connections on the suspension links should only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.

If the wheel alignment has to be checked and adjusted at a later time, all nuts and bolts which need to be loosened to make adjustments should initially be tightened to the specified torque. After the wheel alignment has been checked and adjusted, nuts and bolts must then be fully tightened by turning them through the specified angle.

CAUTION! All nuts and bolts must be fully tightened according to specifications before the vehicle as driven on public roads.
