D-Pillar Trim

Removing


Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Bench Seat ] Rear Bench Seat.

- Remove 1/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest without Center Armrest Component Overview ] Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest Without Center Armrest Component Overview.

- Remove 2/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest ] Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest.

- Remove the C-pillar trim: vehicles without side airbags, refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag, vehicles with side airbags, refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag.

- Remove rear cross panel trim. Refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim ] Rear Cross Panel Trim.

- Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim.

- Remove screws - arrows -.





- Remove rear automatic belt retractor.

- Remove the bolt - 1 -.





- Disengage C-pillar trim from D-pillar trim - arrow -.

- Remove the bolt - 1 -.





- Remove D-pillar trim from body at front edge - A arrows -.

- Slide D-pillar trim upward at rear edge - arrow B -.

- Remove D-pillar downward.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

• Upper D-pillar trim threaded holes must be cleaned of locking compound residue after removal. Otherwise, new screws could lock up when installed and shear off when removed again.

• They can be cleaned with a thread cutter.

• Replace self-locking screws.

• Replace damaged spring clamps.

- Install automatic belt retractor.

- Install side trim. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim.

- Install rear cross panel trim. Refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim ] Rear Cross Panel Trim.

- Install the C-pillar trim: vehicles without side airbags, refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag, vehicles with side airbags, refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag.

- Install 2/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest ] Left 1/3 or Right 2/3 Backrest.

- Install 1/3 rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest without Center Armrest Component Overview ] Left 1/3 and Right 2/3 Backrest Without Center Armrest Component Overview.

- Install the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Bench Seat ] Rear Bench Seat.
