Fresh/Recirculation Air Door Motor (V154), Checking
- Remove the glove compartment, if necessary.
- Switch ignition on.
- Set switch for Fresh Air Blower (V2) - G - to speed 3.
- Turn rotary switch for air distribution - B - into "air distribution to instrument panel vents" position.
- Fresh/recirculating air button - F - is not operated (fresh air mode, button indicator lamp does not light up).
• Air is drawn in via fresh air intake from plenum chamber.
- Operate fresh/recirculating air button - F - (recirculating air, button indicator lamp lights up).
• Air is drawn in from area behind glove compartment (recirculating air mode).
- Turn rotary switch for air distribution - B - into "air distribution to front windshield" position - D -.
• Indicator lamp in fresh/recirculating air button - F - goes out, fresh/recirculating air door goes into "fresh air mode" position.
• If not OK, then check the heater control module (J65) electronics and the fresh/recirculating air door motor activation. If fresh/recirculating air door function is OK and windows fog up, check:
- Dust and pollen filter for soiling. Refer to=> [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Service and Repair.
- Forced air extraction of passenger compartment. Refer to=> [ Vent Frame, Checking ] Vent Frame, Checking.
- Passenger compartment for water penetration.
- Fresh air intake from plenum chamber and water drain of plenum chamber. Refer to=> [ Plenum Chamber Water Drain, Checking and Cleaning ] Testing and Inspection.
- Seals between individual components of fresh air intake and vehicle for damage and proper seal.
