Models

Window lift switch is sticking

Condition

The window lifter switch in the switch on the driver side jams or doesn't work.

The passenger window and the rear windows cannot be operated from the driver side.

The window can be opened/closed with the individual switches.

Technical Background

Too tight tolerances between window lifter switch and the switch trim can sporadically lead to the binding or the failure of the switch.

Production Solution

Audi A6 (4F):

1. Optimized switch trim.

2. Improved soldering process at the supplier.

Constructive change of the set of 4 switches.

Audi A3 (8PA):

1. Optimized tools for the switch trim.

2. Improved soldering process and change of the packaging at the supplier.

Constructive change of the set of 4 switches.

Service

1. Replace the switch trim.

2. Replace the 4-part window lifter switch row (driver side).
