Vehicle Information





Condition

This RVU has been proactively released to prevent and correct the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:

MIL on, and one or more of following DTCs are stored in ECM data memory:

- P1297 (Connection charger-throttle valve, pressure loss).

- P2187 (Fuel trim bank 1, system too lean at idle speed).

- P2279 (Intake air system leak).

This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect for 15 months from date of publication. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.

Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:

- Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the CR/17C4 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

- Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

- Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.

- Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Technical Background

The conditions described may be caused by a malfunction of the crankcase ventilation system pressure regulating valve.

Improved crankcase ventilation system pressure regulating valve and hose.

Service





1. Remove crankcase pressure regulating valve (Figure 1, Point 1) and hose (Figure 1, Point 2).

2. Inspect crankcase pressure regulating valve part number.

- If valve part number is 06F 129 101 K:

a. The valve does not need to be replaced.

b. Inspect hose part number. If part number is not 06F 103 221 H, replace hose with 06F 103 221 H.

c. Reinstall the valve and tighten the bolts holding the pressure regulating valve to 4 Nm. Proceed to Step 3.

- If valve part number is 06F 129 101 C, 06F 129 101 D, or 06F 129 101 F:

a. Replace valve with 06F 129 101 K.

b. Inspect hose part number. If part number is not 06F 103 221 H, replace hose with 06F 103 221 H.

c. Tighten the bolts holding the pressure regulating valve to 4 Nm. Proceed to Step 3.

- If valve part number is 06F 129 101 E or 06F 129 101 G:

a. Replace valve with updated level of 06F 129 101 E.

b. Inspect hose part number. If part number is not 06F 103 221 H, replace hose with 06F 103 221 H.

c. Tighten the bolts holding the pressure regulating valve to 4 Nm.

3. Clear fault codes, if present.

Required Customer Notification

Inform your customer in writing by recording on the Repair Order any and all work that was conducted on the vehicle, including any and all updates completed under this Required Vehicle Update Technical Service Bulletin.





Required Parts and Tools

- Destroy and properly dispose of removed parts in accordance with local, state and federal/provincial environmental regulations.

- If you have exhausted your allocated parts and you require additional parts for vehicles affected by this RVU but have exceeded your Upper Order Limit, please submit your requests for additional parts. Be sure to include the affected VINs with your order. Prior to submitting your request, ensure that each vehicle has the CR/17C4 code. Your order will be reviewed and processed accordingly.
