High Pressure Pump

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening the system, perform the procedure for releasing fuel pressure. Refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] Service and Repair

The removal and installation of the high-pressure fuel pump can only be performed on a cold engine.

When installing the high-pressure fuel pump, make sure that no dirt enters the fuel system.

Catch escaping fuel with a rag.

The O-ring must always be replaced.

High-pressure fuel lines must always be fastened free of tension.

Removing

- Disconnect electrical connectors from Low Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410) and from Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276) - 1 and 2 -.

- Remove both fuel lines.

- Remove 3 bolts - arrows -.





- Carefully pull out high-pressure fuel pump. The sleeve may remain inserted in the cylinder head.

Installing

- Insert undamaged sleeve in cylinder head.

- Then rotate camshaft until sleeve has reached the lowest point (put light pressure on the sleeve).

- Replace O-ring for the high-pressure pump.

- Carefully insert high pressure pump in the sleeve in the cylinder head.

- Tighten bolts in diagonal sequence to 10 Nm.

Tightening Specifications 10 Nm

- Before installing the fuel lines, check the torque of the connections on the high-pressure pump.

Tightening specification for the connection of fuel return line: 40 Nm

Tightening specification for the connection of fuel supply line: 30 Nm

Replace the bolt for the fuel return line

- Install bolt for the fuel return line hand-tight. Align so it is free of stress.

- Hand-tighten the union nut for the fuel supply line. Align so it is free of stress.

Tightening specification for the fuel return line: 25 Nm

Tightening specification for the fuel supply line: 30 Nm

- Connect electrical connectors on Low Fuel Pressure Sensor (G410) and for Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276).

Check fuel system for leaks.
