Fuel Pump Adaptation after Replacing Fuel Delivery Unit, Vehicles with 4-Cyl. TFSI Engine
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing, and Information System (VAS 5051B)
• If the fuel pump is replaced, the fuel pump should be adapted to the engine control module on vehicles with 4-cyl. TFSI engine to check the repair.
Procedure
• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051B) connected.
• No faults in DTC memory.
• Engine running at idle.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Tap "On Board Diagnostic" in selection - 1 - and activate by tapping the -> button.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Tap "01 - Engine Electronics" vehicle system in selection - 1 - and activate by tapping the -> button.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Tap "006 - Basic Setting" function in selection - 1 - and activate by pressing the -> button.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- In button field - 1 -, press buttons 1 0 3 for "Display group 103" and confirm entry by pressing Q button.
- Activate basic setting by pressing Activate button - A -.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Check indication in display field - 4 -.
Scan tool display: "ADP in progress". After the fuel pump adaptation is completed, the display shows "ADP OK".
• If "ADP not OK" is displayed: Check DTC Memory.
- End function "006 - Basic setting" by pressing <- button.
- Select diagnostic function "022 - End output" in selection.
- Turn the ignition off and disconnect the Data Link Connector (DLC).
