Transmission Control Module (TCM), Coding



Transmission Control Module (TCM), coding - 01J, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) can be coded.

Note: Coding can only be performed with the ignition ON and with the selector lever in position "P" or "N." The accelerator pedal must be in the idle position. The vehicle must be stationary and the engine must not be started.

Test procedure
- Connect VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Measurement and Information System and select vehicle system "02 Transmission Electronics". Ignition must be switched on.

- Touch -1- diagnostic function "07 Coding control module".





Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Enter code word On keypad -2- enter control module code as given in code chart.

- Confirm entry by pressing Q button.

Note: After coding, the Transmission Control Module DTC memory is automatically deleted.





Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Coding is being carried out

- Wait until next display appears on screen.





Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Coding in the vehicle system completed

2 - Control module identification number with new coding (previous coding in parentheses)

- Terminate function "07 Coding Control Module" by pressing <-- button.

- Perform adaptation.
