Multi-Function Buttons

Two versions of the multi-function steering wheel are used.

Removing

- In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526)=> [ Telematics Service Mode, Activating/Deactivating ] Procedures service mode.

- Disconnect battery ground wire.

- Follow safety precautions for airbag systems.

- Remove driver's airbag Removal and Installation.

- Disconnect electrical connection - 2 -.





- Remove screws - 1 - and - 3 - (1 Nm).

- Remove switch unit - 4 - in direction of arrow from airbag unit.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.

- Ensure all connections have engaged and lines lie in proper guides.

Removing

- In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526)=> [ Telematics Service Mode, Activating/Deactivating ] Procedures service mode.

- Disconnect battery ground wire.

- Follow safety precautions for airbag systems.

- Remove driver's airbag. Removal and Installation.

- Disconnect harness connector - 1 - at button - 2 -.





- Slide button - 2 - out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.

- Turn the button around.

- Disconnect harness connector - 2 - to Tiptronic switch at multi-function button - 1 - and remove it.





Installing

- Install in reverse order.

Removing and installing the left multi-function button is identical.
