Brake Caliper Component Overview, C54
• Install the complete repair kit when servicing.
• New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.
• Apply a thin coat of lithium grease (G 052 150 A2 ) to the brake cylinder, piston and seal.
1 - Dust cap
• Push onto bleeder valve
2 - Bleeder valve
• Apply a thin coat of lithium grease (G 052 150 A2) before installing
3 - Brake caliper housing
4 - Self-locking bolts, 30 Nm
• Always replace
• Counter-hold on the guide pin when loosening and tightening
5 - Seal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Caliper Piston, C54 ] Caliper Piston, C54.
6 - Piston
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Caliper Piston, C54 ] Caliper Piston, C54.
• Apply a thin coat of lithium grease (G 052 150 A2) to the piston
7 - Protective seal
• Do not damage when inserting piston
8 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective caps
• Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on the guide pins
