Parking Aid System

The optional parking aid system (also know as "Acoustic park assist" or "Parktronic(R)") is only available as a 4-channel system that monitors the area to the rear of the vehicle.

The system is activated automatically whenever the vehicle is shifted into reverse.

Before troubleshooting or servicing, technicians must be familiar with the functions and operation specifics of the parking aid system. Always read the owner's manual and review applicable system functions and operation limitations.

OBD Function

Parking aid system functions are controlled by the Parking Aid Control Module (J446) which has On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capability. If malfunctions occur in monitored components, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) will be stored in memory.

Troubleshoot parking aid system malfunctions by performing OBD program using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051/5052) in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".
