Seat Height Adjustment Unit

Front Seats

• From 06.2006, the usual wiring harness routing to connector station under front seat. Refer to => [ Connectors, Disconnecting ] Front Seats has been replaced with modular wiring routing => [ Modular Wiring Routing Assembly Overview, from June 2006 ] Front Seats.

• The modular wiring routing has not been implemented for all countries.

• Check version of front seat and of vehicle and perform repairs accordingly.

• Note the two possible versions of the modular wiring routing, Modular Light or Modular. Refer to => [ Modular Wiring Routing Versions ] Front Seats.

• Removing

- Remove seat.

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] Backrest Adjusting Wheel.

- Remove seat height adjustment handle. Refer to => [ Seat Height Adjustment Handle ] Seat Height Adjustment Handle.

- Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to => [ Side Trim, Sill Side ] Side Trim, Sill Side.

- Remove screw - 3 -.

- Remove bolts - 5 - (Qty. 2).

- Remove seat height adjustment unit - 2 - and retaining plate - 4 -.

• Installing

- Install seat height adjuster unit - 2 - in reverse order of removal.

- Ensure retaining plate - 4 - is positioned at arrow position on seat pan.

- Ensure retaining clamp is positioned on seat height adjustment handle lever - 2 -. Note installation position => [ Retaining Clamp Installation Position ].

• Tightening specification 8 Nm

• Tightening specification 8 Nm
