Relay and Fuse Panels
CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
• Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
• Switch the ignition off.
• Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
• After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Information and/or Owner's Manual.
• Steps after reconnecting voltage supply => Battery.
Plenum Chamber E-Box
Removing
• All cable ties opened or cut during removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.
- Remove rubber seal for plenum chamber cover.
- Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - toward front - arrows -.
- Pry off both caps using a screwdriver - 3 -.
- Loosen hex nuts - 4 - by several turns.
- Loosen wiper arm - 2 - from wiper shaft by lightly tilting.
- Remove hex nuts completely and remove wiper arms.
- Disconnect securing clips - 1 - and remove cowl panel grill - 5 -.
- Remove cover for E-box, plenum chamber - arrows -.
- Using a screwdriver, pry off retaining bar - arrow -.
- Disengage connector catches - arrows - and disconnect harness connectors - 1 - and - 2 - from Engine Control Module (ECM).
- If present, unclip Transmission Control Module (TCM) retaining bracket.
- Release harness connector - arrow - and disconnect it from Transmission Control Module (TCM).
- If present, cut through cable tie.
- Pull off connectors - 2 - at rear of connector strip.
- Unscrew wire connection - 1 -.
- Release catches s - arrows - and remove auxiliary relay carrier in E-Box toward top.
- Detach engine wiring harness at E-box and at bulkhead and move it free.
- Remove securing nuts - arrows -.
- Lift E-Box and remove upward.
Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, paying attention to the following:
• All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.
