Parking Brake Adjusting

The rear brakes are self adjusting, so the parking brake does not require adjustment in normal operation. Adjustment is only necessary after replacing parking brake cables, brake calipers, brake pads or brake rotors.

The parking brake system must be bled and must be functioning properly.

The parking brake lever, cables and brackets must be fully installed.

- Adjust the lever position at the brake calipers using feeler gauges to ensure that - A - = 1.5 mm.





- Depress the brake pedal firmly at least three times.

For ease of illustration the diagram shows the parking brake lever removed from the vehicle.

- Press the release button - 2 -. (Both spring loaded hooks must catch eyelets on the parking brake cable).





- Release the release button.

- Firmly apply the parking brake lever at least 3 times.

- Place the parking brake lever in the rest position.

- Press the release button. (Both spring loaded hooks must catch eyelets on the parking brake cable).

- Release the release button.

- Remove the feeler gauge from the brake calipers.

- Check the lever position at the brake calipers.





- The distance - A - between the lever and the stop must be between 0 and 1.5 mm.
