Affected Vehicles

"94 ""Dynamic headlight range control"" warning light is on in the instrument cluster center display"

Condition





- "Dynamic headlight control defective" warning light (amber) comes on sporadically in the instrument cluster center display.

- DTC 00070 002 (battery voltage under lower limit, sporadic) stored in the headlight range control unit (J431).

- The headlights function normally.

Technical Background

The control unit sporadically sees low voltage only when the engine is started.

After switching the ignition switch off and on, the warning light goes out.

This condition only affects vehicles that are not equipped with the adaptive headlight option (dynamic cornering).

Production Solution

Improved headlight range control unit.

Service

Replace the headlight range control unit.
