Navigation System: Description and Operation

Navigation System through August 2008

The navigation system is linked to the MMI infotainment system via the fiber-optic MOST Bus.

The navigation system is available from equipment version MMI basic plus.

With the version MMI basic plus, the navigation system with CD drive control module (J401) is located in the glove compartment and contains the radio (R) and the front information display control head control module (J523).

In the MMI version, the navigation system with CD drive control module is located at the left rear of the luggage compartment.

All versions are operated via the multimedia control head (E380).

Fault finding is performed via guided fault finding using vehicle diagnosis, testing & info. system (VAS5051B).
