CAUTION!
Replacement expanded foam inserts expand only after reaching 356° F (180 °C). Because of this, filler foam is used for repairs

Filler foam D 506 000 A2 is required for repairs.

On the Audi A6, various hollow body spaces are equipped with molded foam parts.

The transfer of driving noises into the passenger compartment are reduced by molded foam parts.

Molded foam pieces are installed in the body shell work and will get larger after priming in the paint drying oven at approximately 356° F (180 °C).

As the temperature of about 356° F (180 °C) is not obtained under workshop conditions, a filler foam is used for repairs.

Filler foam (D 506 000 A2) is used for repairs.

The foam hardens within 25 minutes.

15 mm next to the filler foam, no gas-shielded arc plug spot weld.

Before performing the following steps, prepare sheet metal for installation, for example, cutting, fitting and corrosion protection.

- Remove excess foam from vehicle.

- Recreate paint structure, if necessary coat twice wet-on-wet with glass/paint primer D 009 200 02 - drying time approximately 10 minutes.

Replacing molded foam part.

- Secure molded foam part on vehicle.

Apply the foam filler (D 506 000 A2) onto the replacement part.

- Secure new part by gently pressing on it around the molded foam part until it makes contact and then weld it.

- After painting vehicle, seal cavities in the area of the repair.
