Front Hood, Removing, Installing And Adjusting







1 - Hood
- Disconnect line to windshield washer system and unclip line.
- Second person is required to support and lift hood.
- Remove gas-filled strut - 4 - from hood - 1 -.
- Remove nuts - 6 -.
- Remove hood.
- Installing:
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Adjusting:
- Align hood - 1 - between fenders.
- Adjust height of hood at hood lock.
- Hood can be adjusted for height relative to fenders by adjusting buffer stops.
- Panel gap dimensions.

2 - Catch
3 - Cap nut
- 11 Nm

4 - Gas strut

5 - Ball head pin
- 14 Nm

6 - Hex nut
- 21 Nm

7 - Combination screw
- 21 Nm

8 - Hood hinge
- To remove, hood - 1 - must be removed or propped up securely.







Hood hinge
- To remove hinge - 2 - hood - 1 - must be removed or propped up securely.
- To remove, remove bolts - 3 - and nuts - 4 -.







Height adjustment stop buffer
- Buffer stops - 1 - and - 2 - must make contact lightly against lock carrier when hood is closed.

NOTE: The buffer stops can be used for adjusting the height of the hood.







Removing and installing catch hook
- To remove, remove cap nuts - 3 - and remove catch hook - 2 -.
- To install, tighten cap nuts - 3 - to 11 Nm on hood - 1 -.







Removing and installing lower part of hood lock
- Disengage hood release.
- Remove bolts - 3 - (qty. 4). Tightening torque: 14 Nm.
- Remove lower part of lock - 2 - from lock carrier - 1 -.
- To adjust hood height, move lower section of lock up or down as required.
