1/3 Backrest Cover and Upholstery

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Upholstery clip pliers (V.A.G 1634)





1 Bolt

2 Latch trim

3 Headrest guides (Qty. 2)

Install headrest guide with button at left

4 Cover

Removing

- Remove seat bench => [ Bench Seat ] Rear Seats.

- Remove 1/3 backrest => [ Left 1/3 Backrest ] Rear Seats.

- To remove headrest - 7 -: Press button on left headrest guide - 3 - and lift headrest off.

- Remove the bolt - 9 - on the latch trim - 2 -.

- Press lock lever - 8 - in direction of arrow.

- Remove bolt - 1 - beneath lock lever - 8 -.

- Lift latch trim - 2 - off.

- Remove peripheral fastening strip - 5 - with a screwdriver from behind.

- Install cover and upholstery.

- Squeeze headrest guides - 3 - (Qty. 2) together on bottom end and lift off.

- Remove cover and upholstery from backrest shell.

- Install cover - 4 -.

- Cut upholstery clips - 6 -.

Installing

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. When doing so, note the following:

- When installing new upholstery clips, use Upholstery Clip Pliers (V.A.G 1634/).

7 Headrest

Rear outer headrests are not the same as front headrests. If you remove all headrests, mark them with adhesive tape.
