Refrigerant Line A

Refrigerant Line A

Removing

- Drain the refrigerant circuit.

- If necessary, remove the dome brace (not present in all vehicles).

- Remove the air intake unit (not necessary on vehicles with right-hand steering) => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

- Remove the coolant pipe to the A/C unit heat exchanger (e.g. for Audi RS6).

Depending on the engine, the coolant line from the A/C unit heat exchanger to the engine may also be routed through the grommet - D - (e.g. Audi RS6). For this reason, the coolant pipe has to be removed for these vehicles.

- Remove the refrigerant lines from the connection to the A/C unit => [ Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit ] Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit.

- Open the screw connection in the refrigerant line (between - A - and - B -) => [ Restrictor ] Restrictor (remove and install restrictor).

- Release refrigerant line - A - from grommet - D - and remove the refrigerant line.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

- Coat O-ring seals lightly with refrigerant oil before installing => [ Refrigerant Circuit O-Ring Seals ] Refrigerant Circuit O-Ring Seals.

- Install the refrigerant lines from the connection to the A/C unit => [ Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit ] Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit.

- Following attachment, check routing of refrigerant pipes. They must be inserted in holders provided and not make contact with other components.

- Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.

- Evacuate and refrigerant circuit after assembly and refill.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit => [ A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit

- Fill coolant and bleed coolant circuit (e.g. for Audi RS6).

- Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if necessary.
