VAS 5051 Connecting and Selection Functions
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051 A)
• Diagnostic Cable (VAS 5051/5A)
• During a test drive, the testing and measuring equipment must always be secured on the back seat.
• These devices may be operated only by a passenger during a test drive.
- Connect (VAS 5051/5A) to diagnostic connector.
- Switch on (VAS 5051 A) - arrow -.
The tester is operational when it displays a picture of a car.
- Switch on ignition.
• If control modules or electric/electronic components were replaced, component adaptation should generally be carried out in "Guided Fault Finding".
- Touch Guided Fault Finding.
- Select in succession:
• Brand
• Type
• Model year
• Version
• Engine Code
- Confirm data entered.
• Wait until tester has checked all control modules in vehicle.
- Press the go to button and select "function/component selection".
Then
- "Chassis (Repair group 01; 40 - 49)".
- "34 - Level control (Repair group 01: 43, 44)".
- "01- On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems".
- "34 - Level control system control module ".
- "J197 - Level control system control module functions".
or
- "Chassis (Repair group 01; 40 - 49)".
- "34 - Level control (Repair group 01: 43, 44)"
