Affected Vehicles
Condition
The customer may report that the headlights are vibrating.
Technical Background
^ At idle speed, engine resonance may lead to vibrations within the headlights. As a result, the light beam shakes.
^ The mounting points of the headlights are loose.
^ The mounting of the reflector inside the headlight is damaged.
^ The headlight fit to the body is not correct.
Production Solution
No change.
Service
1. Check the headlight mounting for proper fit.
2. Check headlight reflector for damage.
3. Check whether other components (such as the bumper or side panel) come in contact with the headlights, which could lead to vibrations.
Tip: Slight vibrations of the light beam are normal and may continue after carrying out the above measures.
4. If no damage is found and headlights with adaptive lights are affected, refer to TSB 2018787.
