70 Sunroof headliner/glass roof jammed/not moving; sunroof not opening/closing correctly
Condition
Sunroof headliner does not rise with glass roof into vent position, or sunroof headliner is jammed or hard to move.
Sunroof does not close or open correctly.
Technical Background

Holding hooks (Figure1) for tension springs may break.
Production Solution
Production improved hooks for tension springs for 2005 models as of VIN 4F_5N12500 and for 2006 models as of VIN 4F_6N030500.
Service
1. Remove glass roof panel. Refer to Body Exterior >> Group 60, Sunroof in the Repair Manual for complete repair instructions.
2. Replace broken hooks and springs with repair kit 4F0 898 255. (Kit includes 4 hooks, 4 springs and 4 screws Torx T15.)
3. Torque new screws to 1-1.2 NM / 8.8-10.6 inch pounds.
Tip: To avoid future squeaks and rattles, check for broken pieces and remove them from sunroof.
