Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 09-29 dated September 18, 2009 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
^ "Dynamic headlight control defective" warning light (amber) comes on sporadically in the instrument cluster center display.
^ DTC 00070 002 (battery voltage under lower limit, sporadic) stored in the headlight range control module (J431).
^ The headlights function normally.
Technical Background
The control module sporadically sees low voltage only when the engine is started.
After switching the ignition switch off and on, the warning light goes out.
This condition only affects vehicles that are not equipped with the adaptive headlight option (dynamic cornering).
Production Solution
Improved headlight range control module (J431).
Service
Replace the headlight range control module (address word 55).
