Condition

Whining noises in the passenger compartment from the fuel system. Noises are audible when fuel pump works (terminal 15 on or engine running).

Technical Background

The noise is similar to a noisy fuel pump, but it is caused by resonance of the fuel filter.

This condition does not cause stalling.

Production Solution

Service

Replace the fuel filter.
A replacement of the fuel pump is not permitted and will not resolve the concern.
