The ATF flush is necessary when old ATF in the transmission must be removed completely.

The ATF must always be flushed for the following work:

Replacing the input shaft

Maintenance work on the input shaft

As described in the following, the test run must be executed twice and then the respective ATF must be changed.

This is the only way the ATF in the transmission can be completely changed.

If all these steps are not followed completely, transmission components will be damaged.

- After installing the transmission. Refer to => [ ATF, Filling for ATF Flush ] ATF, Filling for ATF Flush.

After installing transmission with new disc pack or input shaft, the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) must check before first drive whether or not update programming in transmission control module (J217) must be carried out.

If an update programming is needed, but not executed, transmission components will be damaged.

If no update programming is needed, but one is executed anyway, transmission components will be damaged.

Check whether update programming in transmission control module (J217) must be performed:

The vehicle diagnosis, testing, and information system (VAS 5051B) is connected.
