Vehicle Alignment Overview
Vehicle Alignment Overview
• Vehicle must only be measured at empty weight. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment Test Prerequisites ] Wheel Alignment Test Prerequisites!
• Exception: Measurement of toe in curve according to instructions from the measuring program.
• Check which suspension is installed in the vehicle. This information can be found on the vehicle data plate. refer to => [ PR Number Explanations ] Application and ID.
Observe the following work sequence!
1 Check the front suspension camber and adjust as necessary. Refer to => [ Front Camber, Centering ] Front Camber, Centering.

If a correction was made to the rear suspension on a vehicle with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) then the sensors must be adjusted, and the vehicles with lane assist must be calibrated if the vehicle has lane assist.
4 If necessary, check the toe in curve behavior at the front suspension.
Whether and when the toe in curve/toe constant "S" must be adjusted is described in the table. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment Specifications ] [1][2]Alignment, and refer to => [ Front Toe Curve, Adjusting ] Front Toe Curve, Adjusting.
5 Check the toe in initial position at the front suspension and adjust as necessary. Refer to => [ Front Toe, Adjusting ] Front Toe, Adjusting.
6 If adjustments are changed on the front suspension, a zero adjustment must be performed on the steering angle sensor (G85) using the (VAS 5051 A).
