Rear Suspension






Wheel Hub and Bearing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (40-200 Nm) (VAG 1332)

Removing

- Remove the drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle ] Drive Axle.

- Remove the brake carrier bolts - 1 -, brake carrier and the brake disc.





- Remove the upper bolts - 2 -.

- Raise the suspension to remove the lower bolts.

- Remove the lower bolts - 2 -.

- Remove the wheel hub and bearing from the wheel bearing housing.

CAUTION!
Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing.

The wheel hub and bearing slide washer - 1 - must always face up.





- Always set the wheel hub and bearing down on the wheel hub - 2 -.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Insert the wheel hub with bearing in the wheel bearing housing and tighten the bolts - 2 -. Refer to - item 27 - in => [ Air Spring Damper, Wheel Bearing Housing and Wheel Hub and Bearing Assembly Overview ] Rear Suspension.





- Install the brake carrier and brake disc and tighten the bolts - 1 -.

- Install the drive axle. Refer to => [ Installing ] Drive Axle.
