Satellite Radio, with RSE Light

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Fiber optic plier repair set (VAS 6223)

• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

• If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

In order to be able to remove satellite radio (R146), the mounting frame with rear DVD changer (R162) and multimedia signal splitter (R181) must be removed first.

It is no longer necessary to remove the bracket for the rear DVD changer as of MY 07. Refer to => [ Rear DVD Changer Bracket ] Rear Seat Entertainment System, Blaupunkt, From MY 07. - Remove the luggage compartment trim panel on the left side.

- Remove the screw - 2 - (3 Nm).





- Remove the navigation system with CD drive control module (J401) with the mounting frame - 1 -. Refer to => [ Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module ] Removal and Replacement.

- Remove the nuts - 3 -, - 5 - and - 6 - (3 Nm) from the mounting frame - 4 -.





- Carefully pull mounting frame - 4 - out of installation recess and disconnect left harness connector to vehicle wiring harness.

- Disconnect harness connectors on satellite radio.

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Tip mounting frame with rear DVD changer downward.

- Remove bolts - arrows - (3 Nm) on satellite radio - 1 -.





- Remove satellite radio - 1 - from mounting frame - 2 -.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.
