Rear Lid Trim, Removing And Installing







1 - Rear lid trim
Removing
- Remove lock cover panel - 4 -.
- Remove luggage compartment light - 11 -.
- Remove Rear Lid Lock Button (in luggage compartment) E406 - 3 -.
- Remove compartment for tool kit and hazard warning triangle - 5 -.
- Screw bolts - 7 - out of grip mouldings (2x per moulding).
USA only
- Remove emergency release handle.
All vehicles (continued)
- Unfasten rear lid trim - 1 - at clips - 10 - (12x) from underneath.
- Remove rear lid trim - 1 -.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note following:
- Replace damaged clips - 10 -.
- Before installing rear lid trim, make sure clips - 10 - are correctly positioned.
2 - Frame
Removing
- Remove Rear Lid Lock Button (in luggage compartment) E406 - 3 -.
- Unclip frame on back at top.
- Remove frame from rear lid trim opening.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.

4 - Latch cover
- Remove latch cover panel to remove lock.
- When installing, make sure proper engagement with latch.
5 - compartment for vehicle tools and warning triangle
6 - Cover
- 5x
7 - Bolt
- Qty. 2 per molded recess
- Tightening torque: 2 Nm
8 - Grip moulding
9 - Speed nut
- 8x per grip moulding-Always replace after removing
10 - Clip
- Qty. 12
- Replace if damaged
11 - Emergency release handle
- For USA only
12 - Molded recess

14 - Rear lid
