1 - ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55) with ABS Control Module (J104)

• Do not disconnect connector (42-pin) before successfully completing self-diagnosis. Switch ignition off before separating connector.

• Component location: On hydraulic unit in engine compartment, left

• Removing and installing => [ Hydraulic Unit ] Service and Repair

2 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)

• Attached to hydraulic subframe

• Removing and installing => [ Brake Pressure Sensor 1 ] Service and Repair

3 - ASR/ESP Button (E256)

• Component location: In center console

4 - Transverse Acceleration Sensor (G200) and Rotation Rate Sensor (G202)

• Combined in one housing

• Component location: Under center console extension

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Observe installation instructions

5 - Traction Control Indicator Lamp (K86)

• Component location: In instrument cluster

• See Owner's Manual for further information

6 - ABS warning light (K47)

• Component location: In instrument cluster

• See Owner's Manual for further information

7 - Brake System Warning Lamp (K118) symbol

• Location in instrument cluster in Driver Information System

• See Owner's Manual for further information

8 - Parking Brake Pressure Switch (F234)

• Component location: In center console

• Removing and installing => [ Parking Brake Button ] Service and Repair

9 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85) with ESP

• Component location: Installed in coil ring with slip ring on steering column, refer to => Electrical Equipment 94 Removal and Installation

• Perform zero adjustment

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

10 - Wheel bearing/hub unit

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in wheel bearing

11 - Right/Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G44/G46)

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Replacing => [ ABS Components, Rear Axle ] ABS Components, Rear Axle

12 - Data Link Connector (DLC)

• Component location: cover in driver footwell

13 - Brake Light Switch (F) and Brake Pedal Switch (F47)

• Removing and installing => [ Brake Lamp Switch ] Service and Repair

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

14 - Wheel bearing/hub unit

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in wheel bearing

15 - Right/Left Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G45/G47)

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Replacing => [ ABS Components, Front Axle ] ABS Components, Front Axle

16 - Brake Fluid Level Warning Switch (F34)

17 - Tandem brake booster
