Temperature Sensor (Gauge)



Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62, Connector Assignments

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Assembly tool T10118

Procedure

- Disconnect electrical connector at Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62:
- Vehicles with 4.2L MPI engine.
- Vehicles with 4.2L FSI engine.
- Vehicles with 5.2L FSI engine.
- Vehicles with 6.0L MPI engine.







2-pin connector assignment on Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62

1. Sensor ground
2. Wiring connector from Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62 to engine control module (ECM)

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62, vehicles with 4.2L MPI engine, disconnecting electrical connector







Procedure

- Remove rear engine cover - arrows -.







- Disconnect electrical connector on Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62 - arrow - with Assembly Tool T10118.

NOTE: Shown from the rear with engine removed for illustration purposes.

Install in reverse order.

Procedure

- Remove rear engine cover.







- Free up fuel line and line to EVAP canister on air guide pipe.
- Remove air guide hose by loosening hose clamps - 2 and 5 -.
- Lay aside air guide hose with connected lines - 3 and 4 -.

NOTE: Disregard item - 1 -.







- Disconnect electrical connector - arrow - on Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62.

NOTE: Engine is shown removed to provide a better illustration.

Install in reverse order.

Procedure

- Remove front - 1 - and rear - 2 - engine cover - arrows -.







- Remove left air hose - arrows -.







Vehicles in Rest of World configuration:

- Remove vacuum hose - 2 - on air guide hose.
- Remove crankcase ventilation hose - 1 - from air guide hose by pressing release buttons.
- Loosen hose clamps - arrows - and remove air guide hose.

Vehicles in USA configuration:

- Remove vacuum hose - 2 - from air guide hose.
- Loosen hose clamps - arrows - and lay aside air guide hose.

CAUTION: On vehicles in USA configuration, hose connection - 1 - must not be opened.







ALL:
- Remove vacuum hose - 1 - from intake manifold.
- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove air duct.







- Remove electrical connectors - 2 - from bracket.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - on Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62.

Install in reverse order.

Procedure
- Engine removed.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 3 - on Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor G62 with Assembly Tool T10118.

NOTE: Ignore items - 1, 2, and 4 -.
