Windshield Wiper Motor with Wiper Motor Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)

Procedure

- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" with the (VAS 5051B).

- Select the function or path:






- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.

- Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Motor with Windshield Wiper Motor Control Module ] Windshield Wiper Motor With Windshield Wiper Motor Control Module.

- Remove nut - 2 - and detach crank from wiper motor.





- Remove wiper motor from wiper frame - arrows -.

- Secure the new wiper motor without the crank on the wiper frame - arrows -.





- Connect electrical connector.

- Switch on ignition.

- Perform next program step in "Guided Functions" with the (VAS 5051B).

• The "Replace" function in "Guided Functions" switches the wiper motor alternating park position off. The wiper motor then runs always to the "lower" park position which is the one for adjustment.

- Activate one-touch wiping and let wiper motor run to end position.

- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Install crank - 2 - with drive rod - 1 - loosely in position on wiper shaft.





- Align crank with wiper frame.

• Crank must be positioned between marks - arrows -.

- Hold crank in position with open-ended wrench and tighten nut - 3 -.

- Switch on ignition.

- Activate one-touch wiping and let wiper motor run to end position.

- Check whether crank is positioned between marks and align if necessary.

- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Install the windshield wiper motor. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Motor with Windshield Wiper Motor Control Module ] Windshield Wiper Motor With Windshield Wiper Motor Control Module.
