Pneumatic Level Control System

Solenoid Valve Block

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

Torque wrench (5-60 Nm) (VAG 1783)

Open end spanner insert AF 10 (VAG 1783/1)

Removing

The solenoid valve block is installed on the left A-pillar behind the wheel housing trim.

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.

- Vent the system. Refer to => [ System Venting or Filling ] Level Control System.

- Remove the wheel covers, remove the cover cap on light-alloy wheels (removal hook in vehicle tool kit).

- Remove the wheel.

- Secure the brake disc with a wheel bolt.

- Remove the wheel housing liner.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.





- Remove the air lines - arrows -.

- Protect the air lines from contamination.

There are two ways the solenoid valve block can be attached:

With bolts - 2 - (quantity: 3)

With silent blocks (quantity: 3) and nuts (quantity: 3)

- Remove the bolts - 2 - or nuts and the solenoid valve block with the bracket.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

- Insert the solenoid valve block.





There are two ways the solenoid valve block can be attached:

With bolts - 2 - (quantity: 3), tightening specification: 18 Nm

With silent blocks (quantity: 3) and nuts (quantity: 3), tightening specification for both: 5 Nm.

- Install the bolts - 2 - or nuts and tighten them to the specification.

When tightening the nuts, counter hold at the silent block head.

- Install the air lines - arrows - on the solenoid valve block and tighten to 2 Nm.

- Connect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Fill the system using the (VAS 5051A). Refer to => [ System Venting or Filling ] Level Control System.

- Install the wheel housing liner.

- Install the wheel and tighten.
