Adaptive Cruise Control Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

The adaptive cruise control sensor (G550) is located behind the license plate holder in the front bumper.

Removing

Due to limited space, it is necessary to remove the screws from the bumper cover and to pull bumper cover forward slightly when removing and installing.

- Remove the lock carrier cover - 1 -.






- Remove screws - 2 -.

- Remove license plate holder - 3 -.

- First release connector - 1 - and then remove.






- Rotate fasteners - 2 - approximately 45° left and remove.

- Remove the adaptive cruise control sensor forward through the bumper cover.

- Remove bolts - 2 -.






- Remove bracket upward and out between bumper and bumper cover.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

Studs in bracket are preset. If necessary, correct adjustment.

- Place the adaptive cruise control sensor on a soft, clean cloth.

Measure dimension - a - of all studs.






Dimension - a - must be 43 mm.

- Insert bracket and tighten bolts.

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Adaptive Cruise Control Sensor Assembly Overview ] .

- Install the adaptive cruise control sensor and carefully push the mounts onto the stud bolts inside the sensor.

- Install front bumper cover license plate holder and tighten bolts.

- Calibrate the adaptive cruise control. Refer to => [ Adjustment Procedure Using ] Adjustment Procedure Using ACC Setting Device (VAS 6190).
