Repairing Wiring Harnesses And Connectors, General Information

- Soldering is not permissible for repairs to the vehicle electrical system.
- Never repair welded connections. If necessary, run a wire parallel to the faulty wire.
- Shielded wires such as e.g. RPM sensor and knock sensors may not be repaired. If faulty, the entire harness must be replaced.
- Exclusive use is to be made of yellow wires for wiring harness repairs. Mark repair places with yellow tape.
- Prior repairs of the wiring harness are indicated by yellow wiring and areas wrapped in yellow tape.
