Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 60 number 08-12 dated December 1, 2008 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
The front and/or rear sunroof glass panel and/or the front electrical sunshade on the panorama roof are inoperative.
Technical Background
Due to a software concern, either one or multiple drive units on the panorama roof will not wake up or communicate via LIN bus.
Production Solution
New sunroof drive software.
Service
1. Reestablish communication by disconnecting the power supply from the sunroof drive units. The most efficient way to complete this task is to remove the relevant fuse for about 30 seconds.
- Fuse number 7 (20A) on red fuse block C (passenger side instrument panel) for the front sunroof drive.
- Fuse number 8 (20A) on red fuse block C (passenger side instrument panel) for the rear sunroof drive.
- Fuse number 9 (20A) on red fuse block C (passenger side instrument panel) for the front electrical sun shade.
2. Once the fuse has been reinstalled, ensure proper operation of all panorama roof functions.
TIP: So far the customer concern has not returned once the reset has been performed.
3. In the event operation is not restored after this procedure, replace the sunroof drive according to the instructions in ElsaWeb.
