Affected Vehicles





Condition

The vehicle battery is or is almost discharged and the Energy Management Control Module J644 indicates an increased static current in order of 700 mA.

Technical Background

Due to a software issue, the Radio R might not enter sleep mode if the ignition is turned off and the radio power remains on.

Production Solution

Software improvement within Model Year 2007.

Service

1. Evaluate the vehicle battery historical data stored in the Energy Management Control Module J644.





2. Then go to 61 - Battery control in Guided Functions and select the menu shown above.








EXAMPLE FOR A VALID CASE

Tip: Do not replace the Radio R. A software update is required.

MMI System Update procedure

Perform a MMI Zug update using CD bundle 4F0 998 961.

Tip: Refer to TSB 2019334 "91 MMI High System software update (Zug 864 - update) procedure." Be aware that both Update CDs in the bundle have to be used for a complete Zug update.
