Electrical component inoperative

Condition

This bulletin only applies to vehicles with panorama roofs. Electrical components associated with the panorama roof, power rear lid, or interior lighting may become inoperative. Examples are sunroof frame/sunshade operation, power rear lid operation with open/close switch, dome light operation, etc.

Technical Background











During vehicle assembly, the wire harness that is routed along the left side of the sunroof frame may be pinched at one of the sunroof frame to body assembly points. In one case, the wires were pinched at the mounting point above the left rear door (Figures 1-4).

Improved wire harness routing.

Service

Repair damaged wires using the VAS Repair Kit 1978.
