Condition
Under special operating conditions, such as driving through deep water, water can get into the turn signal parking light.
Technical Background
The turn signal parking light has openings for air circulation. The air circulation provides anti-misting protection and pressure compensation when the light becomes hot.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
1. Make sure there are no cracks in the glass. Ensure the cover and the seals are not damaged.
2. For the above operating conditions, special lights with closed ventilation openings can be installed. Since the ventilation is decreased, installing the special lights unnecessarily will lead to more complaints about steamed-up lights. Install these lights only if the vehicle is used to drive through deep water.
For the necessary pressure compensation when the lights are on, an element with a water-repellent membrane has been installed.
Tip: In the special lights, defogging is more difficult, with greater risk of the lights steaming up.
Warranty
Required Parts and Tools
Tip: The replacement must be authorized by the importer. Therefore open a TACS ticket and attach pictures of the affected turn signal parking light.
