Drive Axle, with Bolted Inner Joint

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Circlip Pliers (VW 161 A)

• Torque Wrench 5-50 Nm (V.A.G 1331)

• CV Joint Boot Clamp Tool (V.A.G 1682)

Inner CV Joint Removing

- Remove both clamps from CV boot.

- Pull off CV boot from inner joint.

- Drive off inner joint cover.






Remove circlip using (VW 161 A).






- Pull inner joint off drive axle by hand.

Inner CV Joint Installing

- Install new circlip on drive axle using (VW 161 A).

- Place new cover on inner joint.

Large and small clamps, tensioning on inner or outer joint. Refer to => [ Small and Large Clamps, Tightening on Inner or Outer Joint ] Service and Repair.
