Wiring Harness, Installing
The replacement wiring harness is routed the same way as the current/faulty wiring harness.
Use the Original attaching points in the rear lid and on the roof up to the C-pillar.
- Start at the rear lid.
- Attach the hose connection - 1 - to the connection on the rear window wiper.
- Install the cable bracket - arrows -.
- Route wiring harness through opening - 1 - to spoiler.
- Install the seal - 2 - and connect the antenna connector - 1 -.
- Connect the antenna connectors - 2 - and - 3 - to Antenna Amplifier 3 (R112) - 4 - and attach the cable bracket - 1 -.
- Continue installing wiring harness - 1 - on roof frame - arrows -.
- Route the wiring harness - 1 - from area - 2 - (cloth clover) parallel to existing wiring harness.
- Use cable ties if necessary.
- Continue routing wiring harness in direction of D-pillar and C-pillar - arrows -.
- The wiring harness separates at D-pillar: - 1 - and - 4 -.
Part - 1 - leads to the Antenna Amplifier (R24) and part - 2 - leads to the TV tuner (R78).
- Remove screws - 2 - and - 3 - on side curtain airbag and route wiring harness - 4 - between side curtain airbag and D-pillar along existing wiring harness.
- Use cable ties if necessary.
- Remove both screws - 2 - and - 3 - (4 Nm).
- Route wiring harness - 1 - along existing one on right side window - arrows -.
- Use the cable ties.
- Tighten the ground wire 2 (9 Nm).
The antenna wire (brown connector) leads to TV Tuner (R78).
The washer fluid line on wiring harness between Digital Sound System Control Module (J525) and side wall leads to wheel housing.
- Route antenna wire to TV Tuner (R78).
- Disconnect the brown connector - 2 - from the TV tuner (R78) - 1 - and connect the new brown connector - 3 -.
- Disconnect removed brown connector - 2 - from antenna wire and secure this to existing wiring harness.
- Route wiring harness - 1 - at top of right side window and to C-pillar - arrows -.
- Use the cable ties.
- Tighten the ground wire - 2 - (9 Nm).
- Disconnect the antenna connectors - 1 - (brown) and - 2 - (blue) from the Antenna Amplifier (R24) and from the current wiring harness - arrow -.
- Connect the brown and blue antenna connectors from the new wiring harness to the Antenna Amplifier (R24).
- Install the windshield washer fluid hose.
- Remove the Digital Sound System Control Module (J525). Refer to => [ Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), BOSE ] Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), BOSE.
- Route washer fluid line - 2 - on existing wiring harness - 1 - behind Digital Sound System Control Module (J525) - arrow - to wheel housing.
Existing wiring harness is not covered on wheel housing. The connection to the existing washer fluid hose is made there.
- Raise existing washer fluid hose - 1 - slightly out of wiring harness and guide new hose - 2 - parallel to it.
- Disconnect both at the specified location.
Washer fluid hose may still be filled with fluid. Have a container nearby.
Water Tight Windshield Washer Fluid Hose Connection
- Connect the ends of each windshield washer fluid hose - 1 - and - 4 - using connection 1J0.955.875.R - 2 - and connection 1J0.955.875. - 3 -.
- Slide heat shrink sleeve - 5 - over a hose and connect adapters.
- Slide heat shrink sleeve over connection and create a thick connection with Hot Air Gun, 220 V/ 50 Hz (VAS 1978/14) from the Wiring Harness Repair Set (VAS 1978A)
- Install washer fluid hose in wiring harness.
- Perform a function test.
