Lid Hinge
• If both hinges and rear lid are replaced, hinges must first be attached to rear lid and then rear lid attached in position flush to vehicle with nuts.
• Follow bolt tightening sequence when doing so.
1 Bolt
• Follow combination screw tightening sequence.
• Tighten the screws to 21 Nm in this sequence: - 1 - then - 2 -.
• 21 Nm
2 Bolt
• 21 Nm
3 Hood Hinge
• When changing seal where lid must be reinstalled, hinge can be disconnected.
• In this way, lid does not need to be readjusted.
4 Spacer
• Must always be installed.
• If spacer is not installed, rear lid hinges can bend and lid is no longer in correct installation position.
5 Hex Nut
• 21 Nm
Lid Hinge, Disconnecting
• When removing and installing lid (for example, when changing seal), do not remove lid from hinge.
• Place a cover at back of roof to avoid paint damage.
• Disconnect both hinges as described in the following.
• Place lid with upper edge on cover.
• When installing, lid is secured with mounting pins - arrow - and therefore must not be adjusted.
- Remove electrical wiring from lid or from body.
- Remove nut - 2 - on lid hinge.
- Remove lid with lid-side hinge part.
- When installing, tighten nut to 24 Nm.
Installing Spacer
1 Spacer
• To install, slide bracket onto hinge arm and allow to engage - arrows -.
• Press slide on spacer back until it contacts inner panel.
2 Hinge Arm
Spacer Installation Location
- Slide spacer - 1 - sideways onto axle - 2 - and press onto hinge arm.
- Press slide - 3 - in - direction of arrow - until it contacts roof inner panel - 4 -.
