Seat Rail Covers
Removing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components General Safety Precautions ] .
- Press seat height adjuster and move seat as far up as possible.
- Operate seat fore and aft adjustment and guide seat as far forward as possible.
- Using a small screwdriver, pry rear spindle covers - 4 - out of seat rail cover caps - 5 - or - 6 -.
- Operate seat fore and aft adjustment and guide seat as far back as possible.
- Using a small screwdriver, pry front spindle cover - 1 - or - 10 - out of seat rail cover caps - 2 - or - 9 -.
Seat rail cover - 5 - and - 6 -
- Remove seat rail covers - 5 - and - 6 - back from seat rails.
Seat rail cover - 2 - and - 9 -
- Remove front seat - 3 - => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.
- Remove seat rail covers - 2 - and - 9 - forward from seat rails.
• If lower parts of seat rail covers remain on rails when removing, these must be removed and slid into rail covers before installation.
Installing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components General Safety Precautions ] .
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- When installing, guide grooves in seat rail covers must be slide into clips - 7 - on inner and outer sides.
- After installation, ensure hooks - 8 - engage in corresponding rear seat rail covers.
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. Maintain personal safety when connecting the battery by staying out of airbag deployment areas, keeping a distance from belt tensioners/seat belts and ensuring no other people are in the vehicle interior at the moment when the battery is connected.
- Switch on ignition.
- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on.
- If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again using the Vehicle diagnostic tester.
