Affected Vehicles





Condition

A wind noise is heard from the front of the vehicle from speeds of 40 mph or higher. The noise appears to come from the central, lower area of the windshield.

Technical Background





May be caused by the gaskets between the radiator grill and hood.

Production Solution

The gasket profile design was optimized for noise reduction.

Service





1. If this area is suspected of being the source of the wind noise, mask the gap between the radiator grill and the hood, as shown.

2. Test drive the vehicle to verify whether the noise is gone.

3. If the noise has disappeared, then replace gaskets with optimized part.
