Models
RVU - Software Update Of Instrument Cluster For Intermittent Oil Pressure Warning Light (I2)
Condition
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect for 15 months from date of publication. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
1. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the I2 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
2. Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
3. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
4. Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in Dealer inventory.
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
Engine oil pressure warning light comes on in the instrument cluster when the engine is initially started. The light does not come on again if the engine is restarted shortly after the initial start.
Technical Background
Oil pressure information processing time is too short.
Production Solution
A new software in the instrument panel (J285) resolved the problem.
Service:
Update the instrument cluster (J285) using the SVM action code as listed in the table shown.
Tip: Midline instrument clusters have a red, monochromatic display. Highline instrument clusters have a full color center display.
Tip: The SVM Process must be completed in its entirety so the database receives the update confirmation response. A warranty claim may not be reimbursed if there is no confirmation response to support the claim.
Note:
If flash process stops partway or does not finish, repeat SVM flash. If flash cannot be completed, please call the Technical Assistance Center.
