ATF leaking from torque converter oil seal.

Technical Background

Dust/dirt intrusion into the bell housing may damage the seal.

Production Solution

- Improved torque converter oil seal.

- Close-out caps installed in bell housing.

- Cover installed between transmission and starter motor.

Service

1. Replace the torque converter seal. (Refer to Repair Manual Gr.32.)

2. Snap close-out caps into openings at both sides of transmission bell housing.

3. Install starter motor cover during installation of the transmission.
