Vehicle Information

Condition

Rattle noise in either door, especially when closing.

Technical Background

Foam pad on the inside of the door skin may become loose.

Production Solution

Production process has changed from using 1 component adhesive to using 2 component adhesive.

Service

Verify that the rattle noise is coming from the door, and repair as outlined below.

1. Always secure all four door foam pads in case one of the foam pads has come loose.

2. Remove all four door trim panels.

3. First apply the primer with applicator. Then apply the glue with double cartridge gun (VAS 5237) to both the door skin and the foam pad prior to installing the foam pad back into the door, as shown in Figure 1.

4. Please install tape (masking or duct tape) to secure the installation of the foam pad and monitor proper installation while adhesive is curing.

5. Remove the tape once the adhesive has cured. Reinstall the door trim panels.

TIP:

Drying time can last up to three hours.

6. Open and close each door to verify proper repair.
