Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 51 number 08-02 dated July 29, 2008 for reasons listed below.

51 Noises from passenger side B-pillar

Condition

Noises on uneven surfaces from the upper area of the passenger-side B-pillar.

Technical Background

This is caused by a 0.4 mm gap between the height adjustment of the safety belt and the B-pillar. On uneven surfaces, the height adjustment of the safety belt may touch the two buffers on the passenger-side B-pillar.

Production Solution

Vehicles are now produced with the felt strip bonded to the buffers of the B-pillar.

Service
