Transfer Case Damper near Rear Output Flange and Rear Driveshaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Counterhold tool (T10172) with adapters (T10172/6)

• The damper is not installed on all transfer cases.

Damper, removing from transfer case

- Remove bolts - 1 - from transfer case/rear driveshaft connection.





- Use counterhold tool (T10172) with adapters (T10172/6) to do this.

- Tie up rear driveshaft to body.

- Remove damper - A - from transfer case - B - by removing 4 bolts - C -.





Damper, installing on transfer case

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• Always replace driveshaft bolts.

- Attach rear driveshaft to transfer case. Refer to => [ Rear Driveshaft ] Rear Driveshaft.
